`TG 09 9999’: Bizman pays ₹25.50L for fancy car number in Hyderabad; RTA earns ₹43.70L

Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Hyderabad Central Zone (Khairatabad) has earned Rs 43,70,284 in a single day by auctioning customized vehicle number plates.
Hyderabad Joint Transport Commissioner (JTC) C Ramesh said in the online auction for fancy registration numbers, '9999' was taken for the highest bid amount wherein the car owner paid Rs 25,50,002 for the number plate 'TG-09 9999' for his high-end vehicle, to the department.
As many as 11 people participated in the fancy number auction '9999' held on Monday and the number fetched Rs 25.5 lakh. "So far this is the highest bid amount for a fancy number, which is a record in Telangana," Ramesh said and added that earlier in August last year, the '9999' number had fetched Rs 21.6 lakh.
The RTA has earned a whopping Rs 25.50 lakh by auctioning 9999 VVIP vehicle number plate A city-based businessman from Soni Transport Solutions paid an astounding Rs 25,50,002 for the number plate ‘TG 09 9999’, which would be fixed to his Toyota Land Cruiser LX vehicle, he said.

Ramakrishna Yerramaneni paid Rs 2.76 lakh for TG 09 A 0006; Arrow Advertising India Pvt Ltd paid Rs 1.80 lakh for TG 09 A 0005; Gopala Krishna Yalamanchili paid Rs 1.20 lakh for TG 09 A 0019; William Cany Sandya Jalagam paid Rs 1.16 lakh for TG 09 9799 and owner of SK Car Lounge paid Rs 1.10 lakh for TG 09 A 0009, Ramesh said.
