Hyderabad: The special vehicle registration numbers auction conducted by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Hyderabad Central Zone, Khairatabad, on Tuesday generated Rs 43.57 lakh, with premium number TG09J9999 alone fetching Rs 18 lakh.
The auction reflects strong demand for high-value registration numbers among corporates and individual buyers, officials said.
Premium numbers draw competitive bidding
Khairatabad Joint Transport Commissioner (JTC) Ch Ramesh said the auction witnessed brisk participation, with several preferred and fancy numbers attracting competitive bids from both companies and individual vehicle owners.
TG09J9999 bought by Keystone Infra for Rs 18 lakh
The most expensive number of the day, TG09J9999, was secured for Rs 18 lakh by Keystone Infra Private Limited, accounting for a major share of the total revenue.

Other notable winning bids included:
TG09K0006 for Rs 7,06,666, won by Ananthalakshmi Kumari Namala.
TG09K0005 for Rs 1,89,001, secured by Neha Agarwal.
TG09J9909 for Rs 1,44,999, won by Sai Venkat Sunag Paladugu.
TG09K0009 for Rs 1,00,000, secured by Sreenivasa Constructions.
TG09K0001 for Rs 1,00,000, won by Ishani Commodities Private Limited.
Revenue boost for transport department
“The special number auctions continue to be a steady source of non-tax revenue for the Transport Department, with consistent participation underscoring the popularity of distinctive vehicle registration numbers,” the JTC said.
