Hyderabad: A woman police constable's act of kindness and patience has drawn widespread praise in Sanjeev Reddy Nagar after she came to the aid of a mentally challenged young woman found wandering naked on a busy street.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred late at night as a 28-year-old woman, believed to be mentally disturbed, was seen walking unclothed from Ameerpet towards the SR Nagar. Concerned locals immediately alerted the police through Dial 100.

Constable Anita, who was on duty at the SR Nagar Police Station, responded to the call. On reaching the scene, she approached the distressed woman and attempted to cover her with a nightgown borrowed from a nearby ladies' hostel. However, in her agitated state, the young woman scratched Constable Anita's face and kicked her in the abdomen, causing injuries.

Despite the pain and bleeding, Constable Anita remained calm and patient, understanding that the woman's actions were not out of malice but due to her mental condition. With great empathy and perseverance, Anita managed to dress the woman, ensuring her dignity and safety.

Local residents and police officials have commended Constable Anita's dedication, compassion, and professionalism. Her actions have been widely appreciated as an example of humanity and commitment to public service, even in the face of personal risk.
