TiE Global Summit: World's largest entrepreneurship meeting kicks off in Hyderabad

TiE Global Summit, one of the world's largest entrepreneurship meetings, kicked off in Hyderabad on Monday. Nearly 100 entrepreneurs from various startups are participating in the two-day event.

Delegates, business leaders, diplomats, presenters, and government officials have registered in the thousands.

Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Information Technology KT Rama Rao inaugurated the summit on Monday.

"TiE has played an active role in interacting with the Telangana Innovation Ecosystem, and TiE's support has been crucial in helping us fulfill the core purpose of establishing the best in class advisory services and resources for our entrepreneurs," KTR said.

Telangana will continue to assist organizations like TiE through policies, programmes, and ecosystem enablers like T-Hub, TSIC, WE Hub, RICH, TASK, and Emerging Technologies."

"The fact that TiE has established a 3 trillion-dollar economy, and the fact that they are generating 1 million businesses by the end of the decade, clearly represents their drive to give back to the community," stated Shantanu Narayen, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman, Adobe Systems.

There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur, Narayen said citing the convergence of technology, medicine, and education. Never use the status quo as an excuse not to follow your aspirations, he advised.

"Today, chapters from 48 cities are here in Hyderabad for the first time in history," said Murali Bukkapatnam, Vice Chairman of TiE Global and Co-Chair of TiE Global Summit 2022. "We have one of the largest mentoring lounges at TGS, where 100 entrepreneurs can network with our 700 chapter members who have gone to Hyderabad at any moment."

Suresh Raju, President of TiE Hyderabad and Co-Chair of TiE Global Summit 2022, remarked, "It is really fortunate that we are having TiE Global Summit in Hyderabad."

TiE Global Women's pitch fest unfolded against the backdrop of the inaugural TiE Global Summit 2022, with some amazing pitches from national and international female entrepreneurs. At the Summit, 39 female entrepreneurs competed in the TiE Women Global Pitch Competition semifinals. Six of these startups have been chosen to do a live pitch at the finals tomorrow. TiE Global Summit has awarded a prize of INR USD 100,000 to the top female entrepreneur.
