Tip us off about people dumping construction waste in water bodies: HYDRAA to people

Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has urged the public to inform them about people dumping construction waste and debris in the water bodies.

A helpline number has been released so that people can tip off the agency. The public can dial 9000113667 to report such incidents, he added.

Ranganath also asked the public to send videos of lorries, tippers, tractors, and JCBs dumping construction debris in the lakes. Along with representatives of colony welfare societies, students of colleges, voluntary organizations, etc., the HYDRAA has asked everyone to join hands in this process.

HYDRAA seized 31 lorries and 48 cases were filed against the concerned persons in a month. In addition to lorry owners, there are also people from construction companies.

"The HYDRAA has decided to intensify this surveillance and take strict action against the vehicles filling the lakes with construction waste and debris as well as the contractors and construction companies who are transporting it," Ranganath said.
