Hyderabad: Police have arrested a tipsy realtor for harassing and passing lewd comments at a 35-year-old woman cab driver at Banjara Hills on Sunday.
According to Banjara Hills police, the victim from Vanasthalipuram has been working as a driver at one of the city's cab service providers for almost a year.
On Sunday night at around 9.30, when she was near Balanagar, she received a pick-up request. From the time the ride started at Gajularamaram, the passenger started harassing her.
When they reached Road no 1 of Banjara Hills, the passenger misbehaved with her.
The victim stopped the vehicle near the Care hospital at Banjara Hills and called on Dial 100. Alerted by the SOS call, the night patrolling team rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. They also detained the passenger. He was later identified as Ramana, who is into the real estate business.
Inquiries revealed that Ramana had gone to a party where he consumed alcohol.
A case has been registered under section 354 and 509 of the IPC. Police said the investigation is on.
