Hyderabad: The Raidurgam police have booked a case against Tollywood actor Sai Dharam Tej for rash riding and negligence. The cops have booked him under sections 336 and 279 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The Cyberabad deputy commissioner of police (traffic), Vijay Kumar, told NewsMeter the actor suffered injuries and was unconscious following the accident. "The police were informed after he was taken to the hospital. No drunk driving test was conducted on the spot. However, we are verifying if he has any history of drunk driving. Now, he has been booked for rash riding and negligence," he added.

Meanwhile, Doctors treating injured Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej said he is in stable condition and his brain scan is normal. Tej had suffered serious injuries in a road accident on Friday night. Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills on Saturday said his organs are functioning well.

The hospital said he will continue to be on assisted respiration in ICU for controlled close monitoring. The hospital said additional investigations will be conducted during the day. Sai Dharam Tej, the nephew of Mega Star Chiranjeevi, met with an accident near Knowledge City in the IT corridor on Friday night. The mishap occurred at around 9:30 PM when the 34-year-old actor was on his way to Gachibowli from Jubilee Hills on his sports bike.

Tej received multiple fractures and was rushed to the nearby Medicover Hospital. He was later shifted to Apollo Hospital at Jubilee hills in the city. Pictures of the injured actor later surfaced on the internet.

Soon after receiving the information, Megastar Chiranjeevi, his brother, and actor-cum-politician Pawan Kalyan, producer Allu Aravind, the actor's younger brother Vaishnav Tej and other family members rushed to the hospital.

According to doctors, Dharam Tej's brain scan is normal with no cause for concern. But he has suffered an injury in the clavicle bone.
