Traffic diversions at Secunderabad Railway Station for Bonalu Jatara from July 13 to 15

Hyderabad: In view of the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Jatara at Secunderabad from July 13 to 15, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued an advisory anticipating heavy congestion and road closures within a 2 km radius of the temple.

Passengers are advised to start early

A large number of devotees are expected to attend the Jatara. Passengers travelling by train from Secunderabad Railway Station are advised to start early and use the entry from Platform No. 10 via the Chilkalguda side to avoid delays, as traffic congestion is expected near Platform No.1.

Road closures

The following roads will remain closed for all vehicular traffic from 12 am on July 13 till 3 am on July 15:

Roads leading to the Mahankali Temple from Tobacco Bazar and Hill Street

Subhash Road from Bata X Roads to Rocha Bazar

Roads leading to Mahankali Temple from Adavaiah X Road and General Bazar

Traffic congestion is expected at Karbala Maidan, Ranigunj, Old PS Ramgopalpet, Paradise, CTO, Plaza, SBI X Road, YMCA X Roads, St. Johns Rotary, Sangeeth X Road, Patny X Road, Park Lane, Bata, Ghasmandi X Roads, Bible House, Ministers Road and Rasoolpura.

Diversion arrangements

Ranigunj X Roads:

Traffic and RTC buses towards Secunderabad railway station will be diverted via Minister Road, Rasoolpura, PNT Flyover, CTO, SBI X Roads, YMCA X Roads, St John's Rotary, Sangeeth, Gopalapuram Lane to the Railway Station.

Buses towards Tank Bund will pass via Chilkalguda, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad X Road, Kavadiguda, and Marriott Hotel to Tank Bund.

Buses towards Tadban and Begumpet will pass via Clock Tower, Patny X Roads, YMCA X Road and SBI X Roads.

Ghasmandi X Roads:

Traffic from Bible House towards Secunderabad Railway Station or Trimulgherry will be diverted towards Sajjanlal Street, Secunderabad railway station or Hill Street, Ranigunj.

Patny X Roads:

Traffic from SBI X Roads, Paradise towards Tank Bund will be diverted via Paradise, Minister Road or Clock Tower. Traffic from Paradise towards Bible House will be diverted towards SBI or the Clock Tower.

Paradise X Roads:

Traffic from CTO Junction towards M.G Road will be diverted via Sindhi Colony, Minister Road, Ranigunj X Roads, and Karbala Maidan. Traffic from Patny X Roads will be diverted towards the CTO Junction.

Advice for railway passengers

From Punjagutta, passengers should travel via Khairatabad Junction, IMAX Rotary, Telugu Thalli Flyover, Lower Tank Bund, RTC X Road, Musheerabad X Road, Gandhi Hospital, Chilkalguda X Road to Platform No. 10 entry.

Avoid routes from Secunderabad Railway Station towards Patny, Paradise Junction, Begumpet, and Punjagutta due to congestion.

Parking arrangements

Parking has been arranged at multiple locations, including Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Mahabub College, Old Jail Khana open place, Islamia High School, and Govt. Adavaiah Memorial High School, Nallagutta GHMC Ground, Wesley College Parking, Swapnalok Complex, Taj TriStar Lane, Belson Taj Hotel Lane, CMR Shopping Mall Parking, and designated VIP parking areas near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue and Parsi School at MG Road.
