Traffic restrictions in Hyderabad for Milad-un-Nabi procession on Sunday

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued an advisory announcing traffic diversions and stoppages across several parts of the city on Sunday, in view of the Milad-un-Nabi peace processions marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.).

The restrictions will remain in force from 8 am to 8 pm.

Major processions planned

The Muslim community will take out several processions from different points in the city.

Key routes include:


Falaknuma- Volta Hotel via Charminar, Yahiya Pasha Dargah - Volta Hotel & Return, Mecca Masjid -Haj House, Nampally, Mecca Masjid- Volta Hotel, and Pattarghatti- Alijah Kotla.

Diversions and Stoppages

Traffic will either be halted or diverted depending on the movement of processions.

The affected junctions and routes include: Falaknuma, Engine Bowli, Nagulchinta X Road, Himmatpura Junction, Volga, Haribowli, Panch Mohalla, Charminar, Gulzar House, Pattarghatti, Madina Junction, Delhi Gate, Nayapool, SJ Rotary Junction, Darulshifa, Purani Haveli.

Mir Alam Mandi, Etebar Chowk, Alijah Kotla, Bibi Bazar, Volta Hotel, Afzalgunj T Junction, Osman Gunj, MJ Market Junction, Taj Island, Nampally T Junction, Haj House, and AR Petrol Pump (Nampally).

Advice to Commuters

Authorities have requested citizens to avoid the above routes between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and use alternative roads to prevent traffic congestion.

Police Appeal

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, IPS, urged the public to extend cooperation and ensure smooth passage of the processions in the interest of peace and safety.
