Transport minister visits MGBS; TSRTC to modernise 150 bus stands in 2023

They reviewed the facilities provided to passengers, including the state of toilets and the availability of freshwater.
Minister Ajay Kumar announced TSRTCās commitment to improving services and plans to modernise 150 bus stands this year, in addition to the 100 stands renovated in the previous year.
Puvvada Ajay Kumar said he aims to enhance the services and infrastructure provided by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. Efforts include the purchase of new buses and the beautification of bus stands with modern amenities.
Speaking about TSRTCās innovative programs, which have reduced last yearās losses of Rs 1,900 crore, Ajay Kumar said, āPassenger facilities remain uncompromised with the purchase of 760 new buses and the upcoming introduction of non-AC electric buses in Hyderabad. The officials have been advised to collaborate with metro, railway, and airport authorities to ensure top-notch services in this cosmopolitan city.ā
The minister added, āThe organisationās 45,000 dedicated employees have contributed to positive results, and their welfare is a priority. Seven Dearness Allowances were announced resulting in a 35 per cent salary increase. The public transport system belongs to the people, and it is the responsibility of every citizen to maintain it as an essential part of daily life.ā
On the occasion, TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar said, āWith strong support from the public over the past two years, the company anticipates an increase in revenue. Efforts are underway to raise the occupancy ratio to 75 per cent in the near future. New programs are being introduced based on feedback from the people. Additionally, for devoteesā convenience, tour packages to Shirdi in Maharashtra and Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh will be made available soon.ā
In a socially responsible move, Ajay Kumar and Sajjanar inaugurated a mega blood donation camp at MGBS premises, where 8,000 personnel volunteered. The minister stressed the importance of blood donation as it cannot be artificially produced. Saplings were also planted at the MGBS premises as part of an environmental initiative.
