TRS MLA Hanumantha Rao booked for abusing, assaulting traffic cop at Dulapally

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Thursday registered a case against TRS MLA from Malkajgiri Mynampally Hanumantha Rao for allegedly abusing a traffic cop at Dulapally.

On Thursday, Hanumantha Rao got into a fight with traffic Sub Inspector (SI) Krishnaiah after he stopped a vehicle of his supporter.

Police sources said the vehicle was coming from the wrong direction at Dulapally. Traffic SI stopped the vehicle and asked the driver to alight. However, the driver flaunted that he is Hanumantha Rao's man.

SI in his complaint said that he asked the driver to follow the traffic rules. However, he immediately called the MLA and informed him about the issue.

The MLA reached the spot and started abusing him. MLA also snatched his phone when he tried to film the incident.

Later, Hanumantha Rao staged on dharna on the road which caused heavy traffic congestion. Senior officials immediately reached the spot and cleared the traffic.

A case was registered in Petbasheerabad Police Station against MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and his supporters under Sec 353 of the IPC (assault and using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty).

SHO of Petbasheerabad police station said that the police are investigating the case.
