TSPSC paper leak: Telangana HC seeks affidavit on SIT probe
The affidavit will enable the court to have a fair view of the investigation and decide whether a probe by CBI is warranted

Hearing the case, Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy directed the TSPSC to file a consolidated counter affidavit duly furnishing details on the investigation conducted by SIT into the question paper leak of the Assistant Engineer, Dy AO, and other competitive examinations.
The affidavit will enable the court to have a fair view of the investigation and decide whether a probe by CBI is warranted.
Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy directed the Advocate General Banda Shivananda Prasad to furnish the minute details in the counter affidavit pertaining to the investigation done by the SIT till now.
The court asked whether the officials who are entrusted with the investigation are probing the matter in the right manner or not. Prima facie, this court should be satisfied with the investigation done by the SIT, the court observed.
J. Sudheer, the counsel of one of the petitioners, sought a direction to hand over the investigation to the CBI as TSPSC has failed in performing its duty in holding various competitive examinations in a proper manner. He said due to the question paper leak, the career of the aspirants is at stake.
The credibility of the TSPSC as it has failed to announce results, the counsel averred.
After hearing the contentions of the and the Advocate General, the court directed the TSPSC to file a consolidated counter affidavit within three weeks.
The court was adjudicating the writ petition filed by Dr. Balmoori Venkat Narsing Rao, NSUI Telangana State President (affiliated to Congress Party), and another. They have sought direction from the CBI to probe the recent Assistant Engineer question paper leak case.
The petitioners also sought a direction to grant stay on the Group - 1 Preliminary examination which is scheduled to be held on June 11.
They alleged that TSPSC has not changed the chairman, members, and other staff, who are alleged to have played a crucial role in the question paper leak.
