TSRTC to deploy 5,265 special buses for Bathukamma and Dasara

By Newsmeter Network Published on 10 Oct 2023 9:57 AM GMTHyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced its plan to run 5,265 special buses from October 13 to 24 to ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers during the upcoming Bathukamma and Dasara festivals.
Notably, this year, the TSRTC has added an additional 1,000 buses to its fleet compared to previous festival seasons, aiming to accommodate the surge in passenger numbers.
A special coordination meeting took place at Bus Bhavan on Tuesday, involving representatives from the police and the transport department. The discussion revolved around the essential preparations required to effectively manage the anticipated influx of passengers during the festival season.
VC Sajjanar, the managing director of TSRTC, highlighted the significant roles played by the police and the transport personnel for the seamless functioning of the TSRTC. He praised their support and cooperation, especially during festivals, which ensures the safe transportation of passengers to their respective destinations.
Surge in traffic expected in city
Sajjanar emphasised that all necessary arrangements are being put in place to guarantee a hassle-free journey for passengers heading to their destinations during the Bathukamma and Dasara festivals. He pointed out that there could be a notable surge in passenger traffic from October 20 to 23, and accordingly, special buses are being deployed to meet the increased demand.
The TSRTC has also made advance reservation services available for approximately 536 bus services, making it convenient for passengers to secure seats.
TSRTC extends routes to stateās neighbours
The special buses will be in operation between Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and destinations throughout Telangana, as well as routes extending to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Sajjanar further explained that passenger traffic is expected to be particularly high at key locations like MGBS, JBS, Uppal X Roads, LB Nagar, Aram Ghar, Kukatpally, Gachibowli, Bowenpally, Jagadgirigutta, Suchitra, IS Sadan, Borabonda, and Shamshabad during the festival season.
To ensure convenience and access to information for passengers, special camps will be set up in all localities, and officials and volunteers will be deployed based on passenger demand.
