Hyderabad: A moving electric bus, belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), caught fire on Friday, causing panic. Fortunately, all passengers on board were evacuated safely.

According to reports, the bus caught fire near the old airport at Begumpet while en route to JBS from Shamshabad. The flames were spotted coming out of the air conditioning system on top of the bus. The driver Venkat Reddy acted quickly, bringing the vehicle to a stop on the side of the road, and alerted the fire brigade. Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control with the help of a fire engine.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, initial reports suggest that a short circuit in the electric system may have been responsible. Authorities have launched an investigation. Officials expressed relief that no one was injured in the incident. Passengers were provided another TSRTC bus to complete their journey.
