TSRTC to launch 50 electric AC buses; 500 vehicles to ply in Hyderabad

The company aims to provide passengers with a better and more comfortable travel experience while protecting the environment and preventing pollution.
TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar along with other officials inspected the new Proto electric AC bus at the Bus Bhawan in Hyderabad on Monday.
The officials examined the facilities provided to the passengers on the bus and made suggestions to the representatives of Olectra Greentech Limited. The company was advised not to compromise on the facilities and provide better and quality services to the passengers.
Features of the Electric AC Bus
- Electric AC buses are 12 meters long
- The seating capacity is 41 passengers
- The single charge range is more than 325 kilometers
- Mobile charging facilities and reading lamps are available on every seat
- Panic buttons and a vehicle tracking system installed for passenger safety
- Three CCTV cameras have been installed in each bus with a recording backup of one month
- A reverse parking assistance camera has been installed for easy parking
- LED boards at the front and back of the bus display destination details
- Fire detection suppression system installed to prevent fire accidents
- Public address system available to convey information to passengers
TSRTC orders 1550 electric buses
As part of its plan to protect the environment, TSRTC has ordered 550 electric buses from Olectra Greentech Limited (OGL). Out of these, 500 buses will be diverted to Hyderabad city. Fifty buses will be diverted via the Vijayawada route. Additionally, Ashok Leyland and GBM companies will provide another 1000 electric buses to TSRTC in installments under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) method.
