Hyderabad: In a bid to reduce the financial burden on women passengers traveling in the Greater Hyderabad area, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has decided to provide T-24 tickets at a reduced price of Rs. 80.
The 24-hour travel facility in ordinary, metro, and express buses was previously available at a discounted rate of Rs. 90 for general passengers and senior citizens. However, on Monday TSRTC reduced the ticket price further by Rs. 10 for women passengers.
The newly introduced T-24 ticket price for women will be available from Tuesday and can be purchased from conductors of ordinary, metro, and express buses within the city limits.
The move has received a good response from passengers with up to 40,000 T-24 tickets being sold on average every day. TSRTC managing director V.C. Sajjanar said the organisationās recent price reduction has encouraged more people to travel by bus.
In addition to the T-24 ticket, TSRTC has also introduced T-6 tickets for women and senior citizens. These tickets can be purchased for Rs. 50 and will allow passengers to travel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
