Under phase II, direct metro to airport, underground stations on the cards

N.V.S Reddy, the MD of HMRL, also said this phase will comprise underground stations.
"The metro station at Shamshabad will directly be connected to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. We are currently working on creating more facilities for the passengers," he said.
Mr. Reddy was speaking at the L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) and HMRL's 5th anniversary held at Ameerpet metro station.
On the occasion, he said that there is already a metro corridor at ORR and that phase II works will be completed smoothly over the next three years.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will reportedly lay the foundation for the Airport Express Metro on 9 December 2022.
Telangana minister of municipal administration and urban development K.T Rama Rao took to Twitter to announce the news on 27 November. "This project starting at Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport will be 31 KM long & will be costing approximately ₹6,250 crores," he tweeted.
"We have submitted DPR & are in discussions with Govt of India for additional 31 KM city Metro expansion; BHEL to Lakdikapul -26 KM & Nagole to LB Nagar - 5 KM," he said.
The phase II metro line will continue from Raidurg and pass via Khajaguda, Nanakramguda, Manchirevula, and Shamshabad, finally connecting with the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Hyd metro 5th-anniversary celebrations
Marking this occasion, N.V.S Reddy, the MD of HMRL, and K.V.B Reddy, MD and CEO of L&TMRHL, felicitated 15 commuters with gift vouchers for being among the top frequent loyal travellers. PhonePe recognised another set of 10 commuters giving away gift vouchers under their customer loyalty programme.
These customers were given gift vouchers worth Rs. 10,000.
