Hyderabad: In a New Year’s Eve celebration gone wrong, a family were allegedly attacked by the owner and staff of Grand Hotel in Abids when an altercation over undercooked mutton biryani escalated.

According to the police, Sumit Singh and his family went to the Grand Hotel to celebrate the new year over a meal. They ordered Mutton Biryani which they claimed came to them undercooked.

Despite requesting a replacement, the staff allegedly served the same dish which angered Sumit. The confrontation peaked when the bill came. Sumit asked the Grand Hotel staff for a discount due to the substandard meal, but the situation quickly escalated into blows.

According to Sumit, a heated argument with the Grand Hotel owner and staff turned physical, involving plates, bottles, chairs, and iron rods. Later, describing the incident, he said that the entire staff, including the owner, allegedly participated in the assault.
