Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Telangana on January 19 has been postponed.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy was informed about the postponement from the PM's office. Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday said that they would soon announce the fresh dates after they receive a message on Modi's revised program to visit Hyderabad.
The Prime Minister was expected to flag off the most awaited 8th Vande Bharat Express in the country, to run between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The Prime Minister was supposed to launch various railway projects works worth Rs. 2,400 crore, including the modernization of Secunderabad railway station at the cost of Rs 700 crore, the doubling of the railway line between Secunderabad and Mahabubnagar at the cost of Rs. 1,231 crore, and works on Kazipet railway coach workshop at the cost of Rs. 521 crore.
BJP sources say that the Prime Minister's busy schedule was the reason for postponing his visit to Hyderabad.
