Vanished in thin air: 50 days on, no trace of missing Secunderabad asst loco pilot

Hyderabad: An agonizing wait is getting longer and longer for the family of missing assistant loco pilot. Fifty days on, there is no trace of 26-year-old Vasavi Prabha, a resident of Sanathnagar. An assistant loco pilot of Indian Railways at Secunderabad, he went missing from home on November 30, 2022, a month before her wedding.

She left all her belongings, including her mobile phone at home before mysteriously disappearing. Her wedding was fixed on December 11, 2022, at Nagakurnool. Prabha was living in a rented house, while her parents were putting up at Vizianagaram district often. She worked in Vijayawada for a few months and got transferred to Secunderabad in July, 2022. Finding her daughter missing, the parents immediately came to Hyderabad.

According to the complaint, on November 30, Vasavi Prabha returned from duty in the afternoon. She gave the room keys to the owner and left home. "When I tried to contact her, she did not respond. The house owner informed me that she left at 4 pm. When the owner entered the house at midnight, he found her mobile phone in the room", said Bhaskar Rao, her father, in the complaint.

Inspector of Police, Sanathnagar, Muthu Yadav said a preliminary investigation found that no bank transactions were made in these 50 days. She left no clues, which has become quite challenging for the police to find. "We filed a missing complaint and sent her photographs to nearby police and bus stations for identification. We would also offer reward money if someone would give us clues about her whereabouts", said the police.

Police also questioned the bridegroom and took details of their conversations before the wedding.

Parents appeal

Meanwhile, her parents suspect that there might have been a fight between her daughter and her future son-in-law. Parents urged their daughter to return. They said they would cancel the wedding if she is not willing to marry.

Speaking to NewsMeter, Bhaskara Rao said, "It has been almost 50 days, and we haven't got any clue on whereabouts. We suspect a fight between the couple. She made a WhatsApp call with unknown person in the afternoon before missing. We do not know where she is and how safe she is. She never shared her problems with us".
