'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam': Here are programmes lined up in a run up to G20 meet in Hyd

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday urged Vice Chancellors of the state universities to ensure the maximum participation of the students in the G20 event-related celebrations.

She advised the VCs to conduct a series of events involving the students in the G20-related activities.

The Governor was interacting with the VCs of different State universities through a video conference from the Raj Bhavan, here.

"As India is assuming the G-20 Presidency, it is a proud moment and a great occasion for all of us to showcase the rich cultural and traditional heritage of our country to the most powerful nations in the world," she added.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that there will be six major events in our state. This gives us a great opportunity to highlight our unique cultural heritage and architectural marvels," she added.

The Governor has also announced a competition for the universities to bring out the best souvenirs in connection with India's Presidency of G-20. The best three souvenirs of the universities will get prizes.

She has also suggested the universities conduct G20 week with various competitions like essay writing, quiz, elocution, painting, poster making, and other cultural competitions among the students to ensure the maximum promotion of the G-20 Presidency of our country while highlighting the uniqueness of our State.

The Governor exhorted the VCs to widely popularise the G-20's theme titled "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" or "One Earth, One Family, One Future."

"India's Presidency of the G-20 will remain a momentous occasion in the history of our country to show the world the uniqueness and rich cultural heritage of our country, and our State," she added.

VCs from different universities interacted with the Governor during the video conference and shared their views and thoughts.
