Hyderabad: On Tuesday, YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha Narreddy brought to the attention of the Supreme Court that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy knew about the murder of former minister Vivekananda Reddy in advance.

Sunitha Narreddy, daughter of the late former minister Vivekananda Reddy, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the anticipatory bail order granted to MP Avinash Reddy by the Telangana High Court. The matter figured in the Supreme Court for urgent listing before a vacation bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Rajesh Bindal.

During the hearing on Tuesday, Sunitha herself presented arguments, highlighting several issues to the Supreme Court’s attention. Sunitha brought many issues to the attention of the court. She argued that the Telangana High Court has not considered many aspects including the evidence collected by the CBI.

Further, MP Avinash Reddy is not cooperating with the CBI investigation at all. He has not attended the hearing despite being given three notices. Moreover, Avinash Reddy, citing his mother’s illness was used as an excuse to avoid arrest. Furthermore, The MP is threatening the witnesses, Sunitha alleged.

Before the Vacation Bench, she argued that the AP Government is supporting Avinash Reddy. “Avinash Reddy has the support of key people in the ruling party,” said Sunitha. Avinash Reddy is the principal conspirator in the murder of Vivekananda Reddy. The Telangana High Court had initially refused to grant him interim protection.

“Further, key witnesses in the case need protection from the MP. The CBI is also opposing bail for Avinash Reddy,” Sunitha pointed out, seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to the MP by the Telangana High Court. Following Sunitha’s arguments, the Supreme Court adjourned the matter for further hearing till September 19, 2023.
