Warangal tahsildar arrested by ACB for amassing Rs 5.02 crore in illegal assets
Warangal: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Bandi Nageswara Rao, Tahsildar of Fort Warangal mandal, for allegedly amassing assets far beyond his known sources of income through corrupt practices.
The total assets identified amount to Rs 5.02 crore, though officials indicate the market value could be considerably higher than government assessments.
Searches were conducted across multiple locations
ACB officials carried out searches at seven locations, including Rao’s residence, properties of his family members, his office and other premises. The preliminary investigation revealed a significant accumulation of wealth.

Details of assets recovered
The assets identified so far include:
House properties: Rs 1.15 crore
Agricultural land: 17 acres and 10 guntas, valued at Rs 1.43 crore
Gold ornaments: 70 thulas, worth Rs 23.85 lakh
Silver articles: 1,791 grams, valued at Rs 92,000
Vehicles: Two four-wheelers and 1 two-wheeler, worth Rs 34.78 lakh
Wristwatches: 23 pieces, valued at Rs 3.28 lakh
Household articles: Worth Rs 16.44 lakh
Following the searches, Rao was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Warangal. The investigation is ongoing to verify additional assets and examine the sources of income.
