Hyderabad: A residential community in Hafeezpet, known as Vasantha City, was targeted by burglars on Monday. The incident has raised widespread concerns among the residents and local authorities.

CCTV camera footage revealed four individuals in shorts with faces covered, jumping over the walls to enter Vasantha City. The burglars entered the premises carrying bags, and their actions were captured in three videos that have since been circulated widely, particularly among the Residents’ Welfare Societies (RWS) of nearby gated communities.

According to Miyapur inspector M Prem Kumar, a complaint was lodged by Dr K Ramsingh, a 55-year-old General Surgery Professor at Kamareddy Government Hospital and resident of Villa No. 75 in Vasantha City.

Prem Kumar said, “Dr Ramsingh reported that he had left for Kamareddy on August 6 along with his wife and returned on August 7 around 4 pm. Upon his return, he discovered that his villa had been broken into. He found that someone had entered his house by breaking the glass ventilator of the bathroom. The burglars also broke into the cupboards, making off with approximately 30 tolas of gold ornaments.”

Miyapur authorities, led by ACP Miyapur and the Clues team, swiftly responded to the incident, deploying eight teams to gather footage from the community’s CCTV cameras.

Dismissing speculation that an established gang was behind the burglars, detective inspector B Kantha Reddy said, “It’s too early to confirm the involvement of the notorious Chaddi gang, as investigations are still ongoing.”
