By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 July 2024 10:22 AM GMTHyderabad: After the video of a truck driver being verbally abused and slapped by a Cyberabad traffic police for allegedly parking the vehicle in the wrong place went viral, the official identified as the traffic sub-inspector V Yadagiri from Jeedimetla police station has been transferred and will be facing disciplinary action.
The incident was captured on camera near Gandi Maisamma at Quthbullapur when the traffic SI V Yadagiri asked the truck driver to stop the vehicle. During the interaction, ignoring and interrupting the driver’s explanation, the cop verbally abused him and also slapped him.
Taking to X, the BRS party working president KT Rama Rao condemned the high-handedness of the police and also tagged the Telangana DGP in the post, demanding a change in the behaviour of the Hyderabad police towards the city’s residents.

In response to his post, Telangana police issued a statement on X, stating that disciplinary action had been taken against the officer in the video and he was transferred from the station.

Disciplinary action has been taken against the responsible officer, who has since been transferred from that station.
