We stand with Harish Rao: KTR on Mynampally's outburst

Telangana: “One of our MLAs whose family member was denied MLA ticket, in an outburst, has made some derogatory comments on minister Harish Rao. I not only strongly condemn the MLA’s behaviour but also want to make it clear that we all stand with Harish Rao,” said the ruling BRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao, on Monday evening.

He was responding to the comments made by BRS sitting MLA from Malkajgiri Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, who, in a video, made a scathing attack on Harish Rao, blaming him for the lack of development in the Medak Assembly constituency.

Responding to the video which went viral over social media, KTR tweeted, “He has been an integral founding member of the BRS party since its inception and will continue to remain an important pillar of the party as we move forward.”

On Monday, Mynampally was given a Malkajgiri ticket by the BRS. He was on the first list of BRS candidates announced by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the upcoming Telangana State Assembly elections.

When KCR was asked a question by the reporters about Mynampally’s comments on Harish Rao, he said, “If he abides by the party’s decision, it is ok. If he doesn’t want to abide, that is his choice. We have no problem. Any senior leader who works anti-party will be sent out.”

A video released on Monday shows Mynampally telling his associate that he has vowed to defeat Minister Harish Rao. The video was released just hours before KCR announced the first list of BRS candidates.

“I will definitely teach him a lesson. He came carrying a suitcase and wearing rubber chappals. Now look where he is. I don’t have time now. I will concentrate on Malkajgiri, and my son will fight from the Medak constituency. Later, I will make sure that Harish Rao will have no address in Siddipet constituency,” Hanumanth Rao was allegedly heard saying in the video. In the video, he promised to bring down Harish Rao.
