What led to murder of AIMIM Corporator's young nephew

Hyderabad: It was a usual day at AIMIM division 36 corporator Mohammed Ali Sharif's office in Lalitha Bagh falling under the Chandrayangutta constituency of the old city until it turned bloody.

The 21-year-old corporator's nephew Syed Murtuza Anas was brutally attacked in broad daylight by two men. The boy sustained grave injuries on his neck. He was shifted to Owaisi's hospital where he succumbed.

Syed Murtuza was pursuing graduation at Anwar-ul-Uloom College. On Monday, he was reportedly chased by two men, Yunus and Viqar, for about 2-3 kilometers. It finally ended up at his maternal uncle's office in Moinpura. The two men barged into the premises and attacked him with sharp weapons leaving him in a pool of blood.

According to police, the accused and Syed had scuffles earlier. Accused Yunus and Viqar are reportedly the relatives of Syed's friend and the intention was to teach him a lesson.

However, the attack culminated in his death. Investigation into the incident revealed that over 6 months, Syed and the accused were engaged in verbal spats out of personal enmity.

The accused, who hail from the Talab Katta area, were taken into custody by the South Zone police. Mohammed Ali Sharif from the AIMIM party is a second-time corporator and is said to be a close associate of Akbar Uddin Owaisi. Syed is the corporator's sister's son.
