Why Hyderabad CP transferred 86 cops serving in Panjagutta Police station

Hyderabad: The entire 86 staff members of Panjagutta Police Station has been replaced by Hyderabad CP Kottakota Srinivas Reddy.

From the inspector to the home guards, everyone is now attached to the AR.

This marks the first time that 86 personnel have been transferred simultaneously. The decision follows anger over the leakage of important matters, including the case of the Former Bodhan ex-MLA accident.

Case 1- How Punjagutta inspector tried to protect ex-Bodhan MLA Mohd Shakil's son

It may be noted that Panjagutta inspector B Durga Rao was suspended for falsely implicating the driver of former Bodhan MLA Mohommad Shakil instead of his son in a road accident case.

It took a dramatic turn after Durga Rao is now on the run.

On December 23, former Bodhan MLAā€™s son was driving the BMW car in a drunken condition. At 3.42 hours, he called his driver and informed him that he crashed the car into a traffic barricade. The intensity of the crash was so high that the barricades were blown into the air.

The ex-MLA's son asked the driver to take another car and reach the spot. The accused was whisked away from the spot as if he wasnā€™t present at the time of the accident. They told the driver not to disclose that former MLAā€™s son was driving the car at the time of the accident.

The driver even convinced the police that he was the one driving the car that crashed into the traffic barricade.

Cops arrested the driver while former MLA Bodanā€˜s son Raheel Amir alias Baba is absconding.

Punjagutta Inspector has been later suspended for mishandling the case.

Case 2- Person arrested for creating nuisance escapes from station

In another incident, Aamir Ali, person who was arrested by Punjagutta police for injuring people after being chased by the car owner fled from the Punjagutta police station two days ago.

Aamir Ali had booked a car using the Zoom App a few days ago and did not return it to the rightful owner Mohan Reddy. This prompted Reddy to file a complaint at the SR Nagar Police Station as he desperately searched for his missing vehicle throughout the city.

The situation took a dramatic turn on January 26 evening between 7:15 and 7:30 pm. Mohan Reddy, along with his friend Harish, was having tea at a stall in Ameerpet when they spotted their stolen car passing by. On their two-wheeler, they attempted to apprehend Aamir Ali. However, the intoxicated Ali sped away, causing havoc as he drove towards Panjagutta.

Ali lost control of the stolen vehicle, resulting in several pedestrians being injured. Undeterred, he abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot, only to fall and injure himself. The car owner and the public managed to catch the accused, Aamer Ali. However, he escaped from the station. A special police team was formed to apprehend him.

On Wednesday, new personnel from various police stations in the city have been assigned to Panjagutta.
