Hyderabad: Boeing's new wide-body 777-9 jet is set to make India debut in Hyderabad.

Thanks to Wings India 2024 which will be held in Hyderabad from January 18-21, the 777-9 jet, based on the successful 777 and incorporating technologies from the 787 Dreamliner family, is set to make a splash. It is the world's largest and most efficient twin-engine jet.

Ryan Weir, Boeing's Vice President for Commercial Sales and Marketing in India, expressed enthusiasm about introducing the advanced 777-9 to India and anticipated its integration into various airlines worldwide. The aircraft, set to be a flagship for many carriers, will be on display for visitors on January 18 and 19.

Boeing aims to reinforce its commitment to nurturing an Aatmanirbhar aerospace ecosystem in India at Wings India 2024. The exhibit will highlight cutting-edge technologies, services, sustenance, and training capabilities. Boeing plans to engage with customers and industry partners, emphasizing India's aviation sector growth through local manufacturing, alliances, engineering, and research expertise.

Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, emphasized their unwavering dedication to supporting India's civil aviation growth. Air India, in a significant order placed in 2023, is set to receive 10 777-9s, strengthening its fleet strategy to meet the rising demand for international air travel in the expanding South Asian market.

Boeing's investments in India's civil aviation industry include partnering with GMR Aero Technic to establish a Boeing Converted Freighter line in Hyderabad and creating a Global Support Center in Gurgaon.

In addition, Boeing has committed a $100 million investment in infrastructure and pilot training programs to address the growing demand for pilots in India over the next two decades.
