`Work closely with the people; victory will be ours: PM Modi to Hyderabad BJP corporators

New Delhi: Exuding hope to win next year's assembly poll, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked BJP corporators from Hyderabad to work closely with the people.

Modi met the corporators here and held wide-ranging discussions on how to focus on community service endeavors and help people at the grassroots. BJP will work for good governance and end dynastic misrule in Telangana. He told them that if they continued to work hard, then victory would be possible.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eyeing the assembly poll next year after putting up a string of impressive electoral performances, including in the 2019 Lok Sabha, assembly bypoll, and Hyderabad municipal election.

Bharatiya Janta Party has decided to hold its national executive meet in the city on July 2 and 3. It will be the first time in four years that BJP will be holding a meeting outside Delhi.

The corporators were accompanied by Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Union minister G Kishan Reddy, who is also from the state.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who heads the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the southern state, has been working to shore up support for an anti-BJP alliance at the national level.

The BJP has so far been unable to make much of the gains in south India outside Karnataka, but its recent show in Telangana has infused the party with the hope of ensuring a strong presence in another southern state.

Meanwhile, Telangana IT Minister and TRS working president attacks the Prime Minister after the meeting with BJP Corporators. "Modi Ji, Community service endeavors?! Are you running a Govt or an NGO? Any update on Flood relief funds for Hyderabad? Any monetary support for Musi rejuvenation or Hyd Metro extension? Any update on ITIR? Mere lip service for Hyderabad/Telangana & funds only for Gujarat," tweeted KTR.
