Davos: As part of the discussions on investments at the World Economic Forum, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy proposed the idea of building a ‘Swiss Mall’ in Hyderabad—a first of its kind in the world.
The idea was pitched to the Swiss delegation, led by Christelle Luisier Brodard, Chief Minister of the Council of Vaud, Switzerland. The team showed an immediate positive response, the government said in a statement.
Cross-country investments in culture and education
CM Revanth and Christelle Luisier Brodard discussed the prospects of collaboration and partnership between the two states in the larger context of the free-trade agreement between India and Switzerland.
The discussions were about collaboration in areas including culture and education, skilling and training, especially in hospitality management and sports.
Leaders of the two states deliberated on cooperation in sharing best practices in the retail and life sciences sectors, in light of the various opportunities being offered by the State as part of the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision.
Swiss team promises to visit Hyderabad soon
Both Chief Ministers are football players and discussed at length the possibilities of partnership in sports.
The Swiss delegation was enthusiastic about exploring ways to support the Chief Minister’s vision for women's empowerment through the self-help groups.
A Swiss team will soon visit Hyderabad to explore various opportunities in detail, promised Isabelle Moret, the Industries and Economy Minister of Vaud.
