Hyderabad: Aimed at optimising the experience of doing business for and with auto drivers, a new ride-booking mobile application called Yaary was introduced in Hyderabad.
Yaary already has over 20,000 auto and taxi drivers in Hyderabad on its app and is actively collaborating with various driver associations across numerous cities, envisioning the launch of similar mobility apps.
It plans to onboard more than 100,000 drivers and serve over two million customers within the next six months across India.
Yaary, built on ONDC protocols, claims to empower auto and taxi drivers by providing them complete control of their business, while operating with zero commission, except for a nominal SaaS fee.
How does Yaary work?
To provide a fair and transparent earnings model for drivers, Yaary said it offers drivers flexible work schedules, a responsive support system, driver and family insurance, and legal consulting support – an industry first.
Many auto unions such as Hyderabad Auto and Taxi Drivers Association and others have extended their support to Yaary and the features it offers to better auto drivers’ lives.
“With Yaary, we are launching our app with over 15,000 drivers signing up. Tired of aggregator models and high costs, drivers are seeking solutions that make them more independent and less dependent on third-party players. Yaary has been built for drivers, prioritising our needs while empowering us to provide superior and reliable service to passengers. We believe that a happy driver equals a satisfied passenger, and we are committed to making this a reality,” said Mallesh Goud, INTUC Auto Union, Hyderabad.
Similarly, Nanda Kishore of BMS Auto Union in Hyderabad said that Yaary truly symbolises a positive shift towards a more sustainable and driver-friendly future in the ride-hailing ecosystem.
How to join Yaary?
To join Yaary, auto or taxi drivers can download the Yaary Partner app from the Play Store, completing a hassle-free KYC verification process involving their mobile number, RC, and driving license. Meanwhile, customers can download Yaary Ride on both Android and iOS devices, free of charge, via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
What does Yaary do for drivers?
Yaary primary aim is to address and provide solutions to prevalent concerns among users and drivers: car unavailability, unreliable services, and excessive commissions levied by other ride-hailing platforms. Yaary plans to achieve this by eliminating the need for intermediaries.
This approach not only enhances the drivers’ earning potential but also facilitates first and last-mile connectivity for consumers. Yaary envisions a future where transportation across cities, towns, or villages in India is smooth, cost-effective and time-efficient, delivering significant value to both customers and service providers on a large scale.
Yaary was founded by Hari Prasadh, Madhan Balasubramanian and Paritosh Verma who have been in the digital public infrastructure industry for many years. It is built using the established network standards as specified by ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce), which are based on the open-source BECKN protocol.
