Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecast a significant drop in temperatures across Telangana.

A yellow alert has been issued for several districts in the state, indicating colder days ahead.

Dip in Temperatures Predicted

The IMD Hyderabad predicts that temperatures in some districts could drop to as low as 11 degrees Celsius.

ā€œWe can anticipate a drop in minimum temperatures across Telangana, particularly in the northern and central districts. The next few days will see colder conditions, especially during nighttime and early mornings,ā€ said T. Balaji, popularly known as Telangana weatherman on X.

A yellow alert has been issued for the following districts: Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar, Mulugu, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Vikarabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Suryapet, and Khammam.

Sangareddy Records Lowest Temperature

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the Sangareddy district recorded the lowest temperature in the state yesterday, at 9.3 degrees Celsius. The coming days are expected to bring similar conditions across various regions.

Cold Wave in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, temperatures are also expected to dip, with misty or hazy mornings predicted until Sunday. The forecast applies to all zones in the city, including Charminar, Khairathabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Sri Lingampally.

ā€œHyderabad will see a gradual dip in temperatures, particularly in the early hours. Residents should take precautions to stay warm, especially the elderly and children,ā€ said T. Balaji.

Advisory for Residents

The IMD has urged residents to take necessary precautions during the cold wave. Experts recommend wearing warm clothing, staying indoors during peak cold hours, and keeping vulnerable populations, such as children and the elderly, adequately protected.

With the cold wave likely to persist in the coming days, residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and prepare for colder conditions.
