Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad and adjoining districts, warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on Tuesday.
The alert follows Mondayās intense downpour that disrupted normal life in parts of the city.
More rain is likely after Mondayās thunderstorm
According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts. The thunderstorm that lashed the city on Monday may be followed by more spells of rain on Tuesday.
The Met Office has advised residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions in view of the changing weather conditions.
Statewide showers over the next five days
The weather forecast for Telangana suggests that isolated heavy rains will continue across various districts over the next five days.
In its daily report issued on Tuesday, the Meteorological Centre said that light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are likely at many places in the state during the week.
In addition, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph are expected at isolated locations in all districts.
