Youth Congress, CPI women's wing booked for dumping bike, cylinder into Hussain Sagar
The city police have registered a case under sections 277, 278, 341, and 290 of the Indian Penal Code.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 July 2021 6:52 PM ISTHyderabad: The Gandhi Nagar police have booked a case against the Indian Congress youth wing and All India Federation of Women, a wing of the CPI, for dumping a motorbike and LPG cylinder into Hussain Sagar.
The city police have registered a case under sections 277, 278, 341, and 290 of the Indian Penal Code. Speaking to NewsMeter, the central zone deputy commissioner of police, said, "The parties had no permission to hold protest rallies. They caused traffic and public nuisance. They have been booked for obstruction of traffic and dumping hazardous material into the water body. The case is registered following a suo moto complaint filed by one of the police officers."
This comes hours after Telangana minister of municipal administration and urban development condemned the protestors for throwing motorbikes and LPG cylinder in the Hussain Sagar.
On Tuesday, KTR tweeted, "Protest is an important part of democracy to attract the attention of Govts & people. But irresponsible behaviour such as these, throwing bikes & cylinders into lakes is reprehensible."

He also asked Home Minister Mahmood Ali and the director-general of police, M. Mahendra Reddy, to take stern action.
