Youth dies in altercation between two groups of teenagers

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old died while undergoing treatment for a head injury he received during an altercation between two groups of teenagers. The incident occurred on 6 June at Arshad Hospital, Chanchalguda, and the victim, Mohd Adnan, died on Tuesday at the Osmania General Hospital.
According to the police, the two groups comprised Abdullah and his friends and Abbas and his friends. They are residents of Chanchalguda, Hyderabad. Abdullah had come to know through their mutual friend Syed Khaja Moinuddin Kamran alias Kamran, 19, that Abbas had been making fun of him by calling him weak. So, the groups met at New Road Chanchalguda where a physical altercation broke out. Adnan tried to intervene but was hit by Kamran on the back of the head. He fell on the road unconscious and eventually died from the resulting injury.
The police said they have named Kamran, Syed Najeeb, 19, Syed Mustafa Mujeeb, 18, Abdullah, 19, and two other juveniles as accused. They have opened a case and an investigation is in progress.
