Zonlympics: Curtains came down on month-long sports extravaganza in Aparna CyberZon Society

Hyderabad: Mente Zonlympics 2023, a month-long sports event that aimed to promote sports, and build community spirit, concluded on December 3.

The valedictory event was held on December 3 and marked the culmination of the Zonlympics, where winners were felicitated.

Last month, Aparna CyberZon Society in Nallagandla, Hyderabad, was transformed into a lively arena of friendly competition with the hosting of Mente Zonlympics 2023. The month-long sports event was aimed to promote sports, build community spirit, and enhance the well-being of residents, transcending age barriers.

Aptly themed Zon + Olympics, the initiative underscored the enduring importance of physical activity in an era dominated by technology.

The vibrant sporting spectacle unfolded over four weeks, turning the society's sports facilities and lawns into a battleground for friendly competition.

Residents fondly referred to as 'Zoners,' actively participated in a diverse array of sports as part of Zonlympics 3.0, including cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, carrom, chess, billiards, a fun run, and various fun races. This diverse range of activities ensured that residents of all ages found opportunities to engage and exhibit their sporting prowess.

The tournament not only showcased the diverse talents within the community but also served as a melting pot for friendships to blossom.

The events were meticulously planned, catering to every age group. From toddlers to senior citizens, each participant found their niche in the spectrum of games.

Apart from traditional sports like badminton, lawn tennis, and chess, the Zonlympics also featured unique events such as the Mente Math Puzzle Race, a challenging sprint to solve mind-bending puzzles. The Zonathon Run, a community-run promoting health and unity, brought residents together beyond the competitive spirit, emphasizing the broader aspects of well-being.
