Hyderabad: Crackdown on encroachments in Ameenpur enters Day 2, demolition and fencing continue

Hyderabad: The ongoing drive to clear encroachments and safeguard government land in Ameenpur entered its second day on Sunday, with authorities continuing demolition and fencing works that began on Saturday.

Demolition of illegal building is near completion

A six-storey illegally constructed building, reportedly linked to the brother of advocate Mukheem, has been largely demolished, with nearly 80 per cent of the structure already cleared.

Officials said the remaining portion is expected to be removed shortly.

The operation is being carried out with caution to prevent any damage to nearby residential apartments, leading to a slower pace of demolition.

Fencing of 861 acres in progress

Authorities are simultaneously fencing around 861 acres of government land in the area to prevent further encroachments. The work is progressing steadily and is likely to be completed by Sunday evening. Senior officials said they are closely monitoring the operations on the ground.

Locals welcome govt action

Residents in the locality have expressed strong support for the initiative, stating that they had been living in uncertainty due to illegal land encroachment.

Many said the ongoing action has brought them a sense of security, especially after assurances from authorities that legitimate homes will not be affected.

Strong message against land encroachers

The crackdown is being seen as a firm step against land grabbers who allegedly occupied vast stretches of public land worth hundreds or even thousands of crores. Locals praised the authorities for taking decisive action and restoring confidence among ordinary citizens.

Officials reiterated that such drives would continue, emphasising their commitment to protecting government land and curbing illegal encroachments.
