From illegal layouts to graveyard encroachments, 53 complaints flood HYDRAA Prajavani
Hyderabad: From lakes to graveyards, land grabbers have extended their illegal activities in Hyderabad.
HYDRAA received 53 complaints during the weekly Prajavani grievance redressal programme. People highlighted land grabbing, illegal layouts, and misuse of public and religious lands.
Graveyard land allegedly encroached
Residents alleged that even long-standing burial grounds are being converted into residential plots.
Members of the Neredmet Mudiraj Association complained that a 7-gunta parcel in Survey No. 153/1 at New Vidyanagar Colony, Old Neredmet in Malkajgiri, officially recorded as a graveyard in revenue records, is being encroached upon and falsely projected as house sites.
They urged authorities to protect the land immediately.
Encroachments in lake buffer zones
In another complaint from Quthbullapur mandal, locals reported encroachments on 23 guntas of government land situated within the buffer zone of Mogullacheruvu, between Survey Nos. 148 and 155. They sought urgent intervention to prevent further illegal occupation.
Dispute over layout and agricultural land
Residents of Gopanpally in Serilingampally mandal raised concerns over a layout developed in 1999 under the name “Vasundhara Estates” spread across 6.18 acres.
They alleged that 2.10 acres within the layout have been illegally resold as agricultural land. Complainants demanded restoration of the original layout, including roads and parks, to revive the approved plan.
Dumping and encroachment along Musi River
Near Attapur, locals reported illegal dumping and land filling along the Musi River in the Moghal-ka-Nala area. They alleged that around 50 truckloads of debris are being dumped daily to reclaim land, posing environmental and legal concerns.
Fake claims on endowment and high-value lands
Another complaint pointed to fraudulent claims over land belonging to the Endowments Department. Additionally, in Kukatpally village under Balanagar mandal, around 59 acres and 6 guntas of land, valued at approximately ₹6,000 crore, are allegedly being claimed using forged documents.
Authorities initiate action
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath reviewed all 53 complaints and directed concerned officials to take appropriate action and ensure the resolution of the issues raised by citizens.
