2-acre parkland protected in Kondapur
In Kondapur village under Serilingampally mandal of Rangareddy district, HYDRAA secured 2 acres of land designated for a public park in Central Park Colony.
The layout, developed in 1998 across 16 acres (Survey No. 110/1) with 148 plots, had earmarked 2 acres specifically for a park.
Though municipal authorities had earlier demarcated the land and constructed a boundary wall, encroachment attempts persisted, with some individuals illegally occupying the space and allegedly threatening residents who resisted.
Acting on complaints received through its public grievance platform, HYDRAA, along with revenue and GHMC officials, conducted a field inspection and confirmed the land as park space.
Following instructions from HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, temporary structures erected on the land were removed on Tuesday morning. The agency also fenced the entire 2-acre area and installed signboards clearly marking it as parkland.
9 acres government land secured in Pragathi Nagar
In another operation, HYDRAA protected 9 acres of government land in Pragathi Nagar, adjacent to Ambir Lake, following complaints of encroachments.
The land comprises: 5 acres allocated for a cremation ground, and 4 acres designated as a dumping yard.
Located in Survey No. 103 of Baghameri village under Kukatpally mandal, the land was verified by HYDRA in coordination with revenue and GHMC officials.
Under the Commissioner’s directions, fencing was erected around the entire 9-acre stretch. Signboards were installed to indicate the designated use of the land—cremation ground and government dumping yard.
Locals welcome HYDRAA’s intervention
Residents of Pragathi Nagar expressed relief and gratitude, stating that repeated complaints to authorities had gone unresolved for a long time. They said HYDRAA’s timely intervention has now protected the land from encroachment and brought a permanent solution to the issue.
This action is part of HYDRAA’s ongoing efforts to safeguard public assets and prevent illegal land grabs in Hyderabad, officials said.
