HYDRAA demolishes illegal building blocking 20-ft road in Secunderabad’s New Boiguda

Hyderabad: In a swift civic action, HYDRAA removed an under-construction building that had encroached upon a 20-foot-wide road in New Boiguda, Bansilalpet village in Secunderabad, restoring smooth passage for residents and vehicles.

Encroachment blocked key road

According to locals, the construction had occupied nearly 10 feet of the 20-foot road, stretching up to 50 square yards.

Despite the road being developed with cement for public use, the builder allegedly ignored repeated objections and went ahead with the structure, which included a shop on the ground floor and a residence above.

Residents said the encroachment severely restricted vehicular movement, leaving them stranded as there was no alternative access road to houses located behind the obstruction.

Small temporary shop became permanent structure

Locals stated that while they had earlier tolerated a small temporary shop at the site as a means of livelihood, the situation escalated when a permanent structure began coming up, effectively blocking the road.

Complaints were lodged with both HYDRAA and GHMC, urging immediate intervention. They alleged that construction continued despite multiple warnings, forcing them to approach HYDRAA for urgent action.

Inquiry confirms illegal construction

Acting on a complaint received through Prajavani, HYDRAA officials conducted an on-site inspection along with the departments concerned. The stretch was confirmed to be a designated public road, and the ongoing construction was found to be unauthorised, with no valid permissions.

Structure demolished, road cleared

On Wednesday, HYDRAA officials demolished the structure that was in the construction stage and cleared the encroachment, restoring the full 20-foot road width.

Residents expressed relief, stating that vehicle movement has now resumed smoothly and access to their homes has been restored.

Residents welcome swift action

The local community welcomed HYDRAA’s prompt response, noting that immediate action upon complaint helped reclaim the public road. They expressed satisfaction that the long-blocked pathway is now fully accessible.
