HYDRAA reclaims encroached ZPHS playground in Kukatpally within 24 hours of complaint

Hyderabad: The HYDRAA on Tuesday restored a government school playground in Kukatpally that had been encroached upon, resolving the issue within 24 hours of a complaint filed through Prajavani.

Complaint on Monday, resolution by Tuesday

The Headmaster of a government school lodged a complaint on Monday, stating that the school’s playground, measuring 33 guntas, had been encroached upon by a private individual.

Acting on the directions of the HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, officials conducted a field inspection and initiated corrective measures immediately.

Encroachment removed, land secured

After verification, HYDRAA officials removed the encroachment and reclaimed the entire playground. To prevent future violations, fencing was erected around the 33 guntas, ensuring the land is used exclusively by the school.

Location and background

The playground belongs to a Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) located at Venkateshwara Nagar Colony, Kukatpally, in Medchal–Malkajgiri district.

The encroachment had reportedly caused inconvenience to students and teachers, with access to the playground being obstructed.

Students, parents, teachers, and local residents welcomed the prompt intervention. Many lauded HYDRAA for delivering a time-bound solution, noting that resolving the issue within a day underscored the effectiveness of the grievance redressal mechanism.
