IAF (rtd) jumps to death from hospital room over COVID-19 fears

Hyderabad: A retired Air Force employee died by suicide here on 23 July over COVID-19 fears. R. Nagender, a resident of Srinagar Colony, jumped off a hospital building where he was admitted for treatment.

Nagender had been unwell for the past few days. On Wednesday, he went to Nikhi Hospital in Srinagar Colony for a check-up. He was admitted there for treatment. The doctors told him that he would have to undergo a few tests for COVID-19.

On Thursday morning, he jumped from the window of his hospital room. He received severe injuries and died on the spot, the police said. The Banjara Hills police have registered a case and started an investigation.
