India reports its 12th death due to Coronavirus in Chennai

The 54-year-old man had no travel history to any foreign country. It is the first death due to COVID 19 in Tamil Nadu. The patient was admitted to MDU Rajaji Hospital. He had a medical history of prolonged illness with steroid-dependent, COPD and uncontrolled diabetes with hypertension.
With this, the death toll in India has climbed to 12 whereas the number of people infected with the virus has crossed 550.
Telangana has reported 39 COVID 19 positive cases which include Kothagudem DSP and his family cook. They were the primary contacts of Kothagudem DSP's London returned son who tested positive.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21 days nationwide lockdown to break the chain of the virus. He said these 21 days are crucial as this will decide India's future. He requested people to stay put in their houses and not cross the "Laxman Rekha" in order to fight the coronavirus.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao warned the people against breaking the lockdown and threatened to deploy the army and give a shoot at sight orders to impose restrictions.
