Indigo Airlines pilot dies as his car crashes into container truck in Hyderabad
By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Aug 2020 7:36 AM GMTHyderabad: A commercial pilot, working with the Indigo Airlines, died in an accident, when the car he was travelling crashed into a container truck on the Outer Ring Road on Monday.
Preet Mahender Singh died on the spot while the driver suffered severe injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital in Gachibowli, the police said.
Mahender Singh was on his way to the airport to attend duty and was travelling in the vehicle hired by the airlines.
According to Rajendranagar police, under whose jurisdiction the mishap occurred, Preet Mahender Singh was picked up from his residence at Gachibowli. He was seated beside the driver.
On the ORR, when the vehicle had crossed Himayat Sagar, the car driver could not control the speed of his vehicle and crashed into the container truck moving ahead of him from the rear. As it was a slightly uphill area, the car was moving at a high speed due to which the impact was very severe.
On information, Rajendranagar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania mortuary for post-mortem and cleared the vehicles on the stretch. A case has been registered.
