After the three Siddham meetings in Visakhapatnam, Denduluru and Anantapur, the political landscape of the state has seen a massive change
By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 10 March 2024 5:19 AM GMTVijayawada: Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is far ahead of the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh, as witnessed by his intensified poll campaigning activity. With his battle cry ‘Siddham’, Jagan has been reaching out to the public in a series of massive meetings across the state.
And now, the YSRCP chief is leaving no stone unturned for his final Siddham meeting at Medarametla in Bapatla district on Sunday. Taking the success of the programme as a prestige issue, the YSRCP rank and file have extensively engaged in mobilising the public on a large scale, as a display of the party’s strength to the opposition parties and also send a signal to everyone that YSRCP will return to power with a massive mandate.
Siddham – a game changer
After the three Siddham meetings in Visakhapatnam, Denduluru and Anantapur, the political landscape of the state has seen a massive change. The Siddham show turned out to be a game changer, enthralling the public and sending shockwaves through the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party (JSP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (INC).
A record 3-4 lakh people have attended the Siddham program’s debut event at Visakhapatnam, demonstrating the enormous popularity of the YSRCP’s programmes. The second public program saw even higher participation with 5-6 lakh people supporting chief minister Reddy’s charismatic leadership.
Subsequently, a new standard in political mobilisation was reached with an astounding turnout of over 10 lakh people for the third programme of Siddham. The political alliances in opposition were forced to reevaluate their policies due to the growing power of the YSRCP, as a result of Siddham’s success.
Opposition alliance scrambling for strategies
The YSRCP’s widespread appeal and active grassroots participation have presented a threat to the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance and Congress.
With the fourth Siddham program imminent, excitement reached a fever pitch. The enthusiasm in the political circles was evident with rumours of an anticipated audience of more than 15 lakhs. A new chapter in Andhra Pradesh’s political history is being written and people from all walks of life are excitedly awaiting the occasion.
The opposition is rushing to come up with a counter-plan as the YSRCP seems to be gaining pace. The Siddham events’ massive attendance serves as a symbol of the people’s faith in the YSRCP and is helping pave the way for the state’s ongoing political revolution. Gaining the hearts and minds of the people was made possible in large part by Jagan’s visionary leadership and dedication to inclusive administration.
