Is actor Uday Kiran’s biopic on cards?
By Prakash Aditya Published on 26 Nov 2019 5:08 AM GMTHyderabad: This year is perhaps a season of biopics. From politicians to iconic student leaders, biopics are the choice to tell untold stories of a person, incident or an event. Contrary to the fact, not many biopics have created a dent at the box office.
According to the industry grapevine, a biopic of late actor Uday Kiran is on the cards, and Sundeep Kishan will be reprising the role. Uday Kiran had made a mark on Telugu cinema with three consecutive hits from Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, and Manasantha Nuvve.
The hat-trick hero attracted unimaginable fandom with his craft in the first three movies earning the name ‘Lover Body’. He was one of those actors who excelled in Tollywood without any support. However, his career took a downslide after various incidents. His engagement with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s daughter and its cancellation due to unknown reasons further affected his career. Later, rumours connecting him and an actress from the industry emerged.
There was a time when the actor found it difficult to get any offers. He gave a few noteworthy blockbuster hits to Telugu audience within a small period. His life ended on a tragic note in January 2014 when he committed suicide.
Eventually, some industry observers say that his strained marital life cost him his life. So now, Sundeep Kishan, who scored a flop with Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL, is confident of pulling off a biopic. Reportedly, the actor joined hands with a producer, who is said to be an NRI from the US. A young director who made a couple of short films is being roped in to direct the movie.
