ISRO: Chandrayaan 2 in a historical move enters Lunar Orbit
By Samanth Lanka Published on 20 Aug 2019 2:11 PM ISTHyderabad: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), on Monday at 9:02 am has successfully completed Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI) of Chandrayaan-2 manoeuvre.
"Early morning on September 7 at 1:55 am, the lander will land on the moon at 71Āŗ on moon's equator and 22.8Āŗ east. Whatever is humanly possible, has been done by us," said ISRO chairman K Sivan.
More three manoeuvre will be conducted on August 28, 30 and September 1. Starting from September 2 the speed of Chandrayaan-2 will be reduced to 100 kilometres per hour from 18000 kilometres per hour.
