IT officials raid Sri Chaitanya Jr Colleges in Vijayawada, Hyderabad

Vijayawada: Income Tax (IT) department personnel on Wednesday conducted surprise raids in the premises of Sri Chaitanya Junior Colleges and few other private junior colleges in Hyderabad and Vijayawada over alleged financial irregularities.

IT officials, who began the search at 8 am, seized some incriminating documents pertaining to financial transactions. They also carried out the raids in the houses of directors and managers of Sri Chaitanya Colleges.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam leaders claimed that the raids were part of a political conspiracy, which IT officials summarily dismissed as being ‘unfounded’.
