Jagan beats hasty retreat, cancels Rs 3 crore funds for camp office renovation

The government scrapped the GOs issued meant for creating infrastructure and other facilities and amenities, at the Chief Minister’s Tadepalli residence in Guntur district, on Friday late night.
In five different GOs, issued by M T Krishna Babu, it was stated that the administrative sanction issued for the works estimated to be around Rs.3.10 crore has been scrapped.
In the GOs issued this month, the government accorded administrative sanction for an amount of Rs. 22.50 lakh for providing temporary arrangements such as PVC rain-proof pagodas, mobile toilets, coolers and other amenities surrounding camp residences of Chief Minister at Tadepalli, Rs.39 lakh for providing furniture, Rs.8.5 lakh for round-the-clock services of qualified electrical maintenance, Rs.1.20 crore for annual maintenance, while an amount of Rs.24.50 lakh was earmarked for security at CM’s Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad.
The State Government has taken this decision to scrap the GOs, following wide-ranging criticism.
Meanwhile, the decision is bolstering YSRCP cadre to raise the issue of Rs.100 crore spent by N Chandrababu Naidu on his Amaravati and Hyderabad residences, during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the State.
